Led by the Conway County Community Foundation, the Excel by Eight coalition in Conway County is strengthening family engagement, literacy, and positive mental health by building stronger connections between families, educators, and support systems.
A recent family engagement initiative in partnership with Curricula Concepts used Conversation Cafés in three school districts to connect families and educators. Families reported greater confidence in engaging with schools, while educators committed to improving outreach.
To address mental health challenges in early education, the coalition launched a two-year project in partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and BehaviorHelp to expand behavioral health resources.
Build a foundation for our birth-to-8 initiative by strengthening trusting relationships among families, 0-8 service providers, and Excel by Eight.
Build literacy skills through redefining culture of reading, raising awareness about literacy readiness and bringing reading to life for children and their families.
Remove barriers and build channels to social-emotional development for ages 0-5. Engage home visitors, child care centers, etc. to help families navigate to the early intervention services they need.
Stay informed on the latest in early childhood development.
